Our Dogs

Our dogs bring both personality and purpose. At home they’re companions, and in the field they’re eager partners — the best of both worlds.

EM One Hit Wonder – (Jenny)

Sweet-Natured With Fire in the Field

Jenny is the heart of our kennel and the kids’ favorite. She has a sweet, easygoing nature that makes her a joy at home — whether she’s curled up in the back seat with our daughters or running the fields with her tail up high, snappy and happy to hunt for birds. She’s even worn a rut around the quail pen from her endless loops.

That playful personality carries into the field with real purpose. Jenny proved herself early, placing 1st in her very first CKC Puppy Stake, proudly handled by my daughter. The two of them went on to be named #1 Overall CKC Open Puppy in Canada. That mix of family temperament, bird drive, and talent is exactly what makes her so special.

EM RawHide – (Rollin)

Bold Spirit With an Independent Streak

Determined Young Dog With Big Potential
Rollin is a determined, muscled young male with a big run and a relentless drive for birds. In training and in competition, he shows the independence and range of a big shooting dog, with the potential to stretch out to all-age range when given the ground to do so.

At less than two years old, it’s only the beginning. Despite his age, Rollin has already built an impressive record. He’s earned placements in UKC horseback and CKC walking stakes, proudly handled by my daughter, and has proven himself in major All-Age and Open Derby stakes against strong competition.

At home, Rollin is all business in training — focused, forward, and always eager to reach the bird fields he remembers. While he isn’t yet part of our breeding program, he represents the kind of drive, stamina, and competitive spirit we value in our kennel.

MANTEO’S PLAN B – (RIP)

The Heart Behind the Bloodline

Plan B carried herself with style and determination, and it showed in the single litter she raised. Those pups have all proven themselves with the same strong drive and love of birds she was known for. This spring at Mortlach, all three placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the All-Age Derby Stake — a sweep that speaks for itself.

Though she’s no longer with us, her influence is clear every time her offspring hit the ground. Plan B will always be remembered.

FC SANDY RIDGE HEKTOR

The Beginning of It All

Hektor was my first pointing dog and the one who introduced me to trialing and the pointing breeds. He went on to become a CKC Field Trial Champion, showing the drive and steadiness that define a true bird dog.

Even now, at fifteen years old, he still joins the younger dogs for a run, proving his love for the field never faded. Hektor will always hold a special place as the dog that started it all.
